I have been having weird symptoms lately so I looked online b/c i had the suspicion something maybe be wrong with my thryroid. i had 22 of the 33 symptoms, so the next day i had my blood taken at the dr.s office. The results haven’t come back yet, but the questions are just piling up. Anyone out there with this, or who has any info, lemme know. Ok here are my questions…
I have no libido, am missing periods, am depressed, and have gained weight and have an insatiable hunger so i’m gonig to gain more weight. will taking medication help with all of this? will i have a sex drive and possibly get a period? will i be able to drop weight easier. (i am overweight now…202 lbs…) i want to not be hungry all the time and not feel like i am going to fall asleep during the middle of my day. i want to be able to get up on a saturday at like 9 or 10 and not have to nap an hour or two after i wake up…
anyone in the entire world…please help. lol. and if my tests come back -, what the hell?

I’ve seen multiple doctors, tried about a dozen birth control pills, had a DNC, uterian biopsy, coposcopy, used the Mirena and many other medications, and yet I still have prolonged periods. I’ve had a bleeding time test for clotting disorders, blood work to check hormone levels and also to check for anemia…all normal. This issue has gone on for 8 years now. Many months I have my period for three weeks and only go one week without. Could this be endometriosis? My doctors won’t test for this because I don’t have pain during sex…do you need to have all the symptoms to have the condition? Please help me with any info you may have. Maybe my now 8th doctor will listen to your comments and support. I do have hypothryroidism, however this is under control. I have no other known medical conditions that could be contributing.

I have a family history of slow thyroids and, frankly, thyroids that quit. My metabolism is SLOW. I’ve had depression and a lot of other symptoms. My mom’s thyroid just gave out and they’ve put her on replacement thyroid hormone. She’s lost a ton of weight and she’s much happier.

I’ve taken every blood test that I know to ask for. They agree my thyroid is on the sluggish side, but that’s it. Should I see an endocrinologist? What do I do next?

My doctor did a hormone level check after I had complained about low sex drive, gaining wt and exercising–but not building any muscles. My testosterone level was below 10. In addition, I have hypothryroidism.

He treated it with a pellet injected into the muscle and said that I should start experiencing changes over the next few months.

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with this. When the testosterone returns to a normal level–how will it effect me? I am afraid of growing facial hair and developing acne.

A friend of mine have part of her thyroid being removed several years ago (not sure exactly why), and logically she’s having hypothyroidism problem currently, although the doctor gave her medicine to meet the requirement.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Oh yes, she’s been having bad mood and seems to forget simple things.
She is also gaining weight, but unfortunately no none seem to be able to stop her from consuming hi-fat/cholesterol food.
Is this common in such problem?
