what are signs or symptoms of a thyroid problem or disorder?

thyroid symptoms
Ariah asked:

Hello, I have not had mine checked yet, but one of my doctors (for anxiety) told me to because I have anxiety and night sweats. I am in the process of finding a doctor to do blood work for me to get it checked. In the meantime though, can you tell me what other signs or symptoms are associated with thyroid?

Thanks

P.S.. I am 27 year old female, if that makes a difference.

  1. Underactive thyroid: Sleeping a lot, cold, putting on weight. This is what I have had for 33 years. Medication ends all of the above.
Overactive I’m not sure maybe someone else will answer that for you.

  2. Insomnia
    heat intolerance
    rage
    heart palpitations
    tachycardia

  3. excessive tiredness, weight gain, cold extremities (hands, feet)

for years i had those symptoms and my thyroid tests only came back ’slightly high’ – each dr did not put me on medication

finally i found 1 dr who did – my symptoms went away

    low blood pressure
    fibromyalgia
    tingling hands & feet
    sleeping too much
    heavy periods

    hyperthyroidism/Graves disease:
    anxiety
    heart palpitations

    bulging eyes
    eye problems
    aggression
    trouble sleeping/inability to sleep
    weight loss/inability to gain weight
